    Manila Yacht Club – The sea side marina was the venue for the team building activity with the Philippine dragon boat team. April 24, 2008 as the RP Youth Team gathered inside the Manila Yacht Club to receive instructions on the activities for that day. A team building workshop with the theme "being in sync". Mr. Jun Sy graced the team and staff based on his own experiences on what is it to become a team and team player.

   

    The Philippine dragon boat team gave a brief introduction on what dragon boat racing is. The Philippine dragon boat team demonstrated the basic movements of the paddle and the right position when in the race. It was an honor to have the Mt. Everest team discuss their experiences on how they conquered Mt. Everest.

 After the orientation the team was divided into two groups the green and the blue. They headed to the waters with great energy. They practiced and practiced their paddling techniques until the whole team was in sync. The Dragon Boat Race started at 11:00 am with two heats. The first race the blue team won blue a landslide. The second race the green team came in first battling neck in neck with the blue team.

 

After the race team went back to the Manila Yacht Club to have lunch. The team building ended with the sharing of experiences on how to become a team. Being in sync or being one with each other helps the RP Youth to play hard and win the challenges that they may face. Coach Franz ended the team building with encouraging words to help the RP Youth team bring home the gold in Malaysia.
